Learn to make ready wearables from recycled plastics!! As part of GOWANUS FESTIVAL, Artichoke Dance Company will share how to make “trashion” (fashion made of trash). We will provide all the materials and guidance, but if you have plastic bags, straws, bottles, cups, caps, etc, feel free to bring them, we’ll put them to good use. Do not miss the opportunity to showcase your creation at the GOWANUS VISIONS festival on June 15.

FUN and INTERACTIVE FREE MOVEMENT WORKSHOP at which you'll learn a dance that reflects water elements. Join Artichoke Dance Company in performing the dance on June 15 in the Gowanus Visions Festival 2019 to raise awareness about the health of the Gowanus Canal and the surrounding environment.
Attend as many dance workshops as you like, but notice they are located in different places in Brooklyn.
On Friday, April 5, The Soraya will host Future Currents: LA River, a multidisciplinary festival and performance event culminating a year-long collaborative effort with our Director Lynn Neuman around the Los Angeles River with local artists, academic units at California State University Northridge and adjacent communities. Artichoke Dance will premiere Visioning Bodies, a contemporary folk dance for a resilient future.
At this free event, you can explore an amazing array of movement-based stations, learning about how our body moves and what moves our bodies.
Spend an afternoon along the Los Angeles River exploring, creating and interacting with Director Lynn Neuman and Los Angeles sculptor Steve Appleton for the Future Currents: The LA River Project.
Learn choreography and improvisational structures from the water inspired Overflow onboard the IX514 ship docked at West 125th Street and the Hudson River. Then join in performing what you’ve learned. Workshop runs 1-2pm and space is limited, so reserve your spot. Performance is at 2pm.

Evolution and Revolution: Transforming the Field: Notes from APAP's Next Generation of Leaders
Join dancers of Artichoke Dance Company to focus on movements that really move us through space. These will be utilized to perform in the Community Cultural Day parade on August 12 at 2:00pm.
Workshop is free and takes place in Henry Hudson Riverfront Park.
Learn a 10 minute group centered dance and then perform it with us at Community Cultural Day, August 12 at 4:30pm at the Henry Hudson Riverfront Park pavilion. We recommend that you also attend our costume making workshop immediately following.
